Wade Collectors Fair review!

The sun was shining and the North Stafford Hotel in Stoke-on-Trent was a hub of activity on the weekend of Saturday 17^th and Sunday 18^th April!

The hospitality evening on Saturday was great fun, with collectors travelling from all over the UK to attend, unfortunately our overseas collectors were unable to attend due to the UK being a no fly zone because of the Icelandic volcano ash!

We had a fun quiz, raffles, word searches and a fun game of bingo throughout the evening, with lots of prizes being won throughout the evening.

Sunday morning saw an early start for the dealers, who were all busy setting up their stalls ready for the doors to open at 10am. The queue was busy forming whilst they were all setting up and by the time the doors opened at 10am it was snaking right through the hotel!

The show specials, the Tetley bus gold edition and the Felix football gold edition were quickly snapped up by collectors.

The ever popular bran tub was busy from the start, with lots of prizes being won through out the day, including a One of a Kind Christmas Tetley piece, along with lots of gold special editions of 20!

We had some new Whimsies that were given away through the bran tub, a honey and grey peacock, more colours will follow later in the year at the other shows!

At 12 o’clock we drew the lucky winners of the raffle and the door prize and the lucky winner of the gold set of Snow White and the Seven dwarfs was Christine Lane from Stockport.

Brisk trade was reported by the dealers and by the end of the day collectors were busy loading their cars with all new additions to their collections!

We look forward to seeing more of our collectors at our next show, Sunday 11^th July in Arundel, West Sussex.
