Review of the Wade Collectors Meet 2009

Thankfully this year the weather was kind to us! After 3 years of rain, the sun shone on the Collectors Meet, held at the Wade Collectors Centre in Arundel on Sunday 5th July 2009.

Sunday morning the marquee was a hive of activity where the stall holders were busy setting up their stalls with a whole host of Wade figurines and money boxes, ready for the opening at 10am.

Once the waiting queue were allowed into the marquee it quickly filled with collectors all eager to add new pieces to their collections, the show specials the Arundel Otter and the Sydney Tetley gold elephant were a hit with collectors, especially those lucky enough to get a white Arundel Otter, a limited edition of jut 25!

The Fantasy Betty Boop also went home with most visitors and dealers reported brisk trade throughout the day!

The ever popular bran tub was busy from the off, with lots of fantastic prizes being won, including the One of a Kind Pink Elephant, won by Jordan Harris, and the gold set of Snow White and the seven dwarfs won by John Golding, by the end of the day all the tickets in the bran tub were gone!

The very lucky winner of the fantastic door prize, a gold Maxwell Nat West Pig, was Rachel Billen-Bell what a great prize to go home with!

Lots more prizes were won in the other draws that took place on the day, and we saw smiling faces as collectors made their way back to their cars with their 'goodies'

A lovely day was had by all, thanks to everyone who attended and who, as always make the shows enjoyable!

We did keep a few of the Tetley Sydney Gold elephants back for those unable to attend, to purchase one, don't delay too long, we only have a limited few of them!
