Ever
fancied being part of a brand new TV show, well, here's
how you can.........
We have been
contacted by the BBC who are working on a brand new, and
very high end, aspirational antiques show for primetime
BBC Two called 'ANTIQUES MASTER.'
The aim of the show is to find the most passionate and
knowledgeable amateur antiques expert in the UK.
Contestants will battle it out over a series of
challenges to prove that they have the all round
knowledge to win the title of 'antiques master' and take
home the inaugural trophy.
The show itself will
be a mixture of 'Q&A' with practical challenges where
they will actually have antiques in the studio. The show
is being made by the same department that makes
'MASTERMIND' for BBC Two and it will be pitched at a
similar level.
Firstly they looking for antique enthusiasts to take part
as contestants. Filming starts at the beginning of May
and the deadline for applications is April 16th. (UK
residents only ).
Those interested in applying for an application form can
contact them on the following:
Tel: 0161 244 3556
(Standard geographic charges apply and calls may be
included in your telecom providers call package.
Calls from mobiles may be higher)
OR
Email: antiquesmaster@bbc.co.uk
They also require assistance in creating the content of
the show. The rounds will involve contestants dealing
with real antiques. Some rounds may involve them
separating the genuine articles from the fakes or perhaps
placing the items in chronological order. At this stage
it would be great to find out if any club members would
be open to the idea of lending their items or helping to
source them?
So, if any
members are interested then please contact the BBC
directly.
It would also
be great to hear from any members who do help out, as it
would make a fantastic feature in the club magazine!
