New book by Ian Warner & Mike Posgay.

We are delighted to announce that the World of Wade authors Ian Warner and Mike Posgay have been working really hard on a new book which is due to be released in June!

Here is what Mike has told us about the book:-

   In this 224 page 8½ x 11 book, collectors will find over 800 illustrations, mostly in colour, detailing the various sets of Whimsies issued by Wade along with many original presentation boxes, which add greatly to a collection. Also included is advertising literature from both journals and original Wade flyers. Suggested values are noted alongside the illustrations in both US dollars and UK pounds.

    A full chapter in The World of Wade Whimsies is devoted to the extremely popular Red Rose Tea figurines and another chapter features the Tom Smith Party Cracker figurines. Colour and size variations of many figurines, features which are so popular with today's collectors, are also noted and illustrated.

    The eleven chapters in this sixth book of the author's popular World of Wade series, not only features the traditional Whimsies but also include the tiny Minikins and Whimsies Series 2 which include the London Characters and the Dogs and Puppy Dishes. Special Whimsies commissioned by various companies, organizations and Wade dealers also have a chapter as do the unfortunate reproductions and fakes - all illustrated and detailed to help collectors understand the differences.

    There is a chapter dealing with figurines which are from the same mold but used in different sets or series with a different colour way. This Quick Comparison Guide will surely help new and novice collectors to differentiate the figurines and sort them into the correct set or series.

    The World of Wade Whimsies is a book full of information, color illustrations, development and history of the Wade potteries and much, much more. It will be a gem in the library of Wade collectors and a great help to dealers of antiques and collectables.
